Plain Kraft Padded Mailers are another paper-exterior option, but their lining structure is selected per specification; do not assume it is identical to the yellow kraft bubble style. Ask for construction details before comparing quotations.
Worked Size Example: A Boxed Accessory
Suppose an accessory in its retail box measures 20 × 24 × 3 cm. The Poly Bubble Mailers catalogue lists BM08 as 25 × 30 + 5 cm and BM10 as 29 × 36 + 5 cm, both outer width × length + flap. BM08 may be too tight once the 3 cm thickness, bubble lining and seams are considered; BM10 is a larger candidate to ask about. Neither outer size proves a fit. Request usable internal width and length, then insert and seal a real sample.
The current Yellow Kraft Bubble Mailers page does not list numbered sizes. Send the same packed dimensions and ask for a comparable kraft option with its outer and usable inner measurements. Compare quotations for the same packing requirement and quantity rather than treating unlike model names as equivalent.
Test the Complete Pack, Not Just the Mailer
- Check insertion, seam tension, flap closure and label placement with the actual packed product.
- Test handling and transit conditions relevant to your shipment. For fragile, heavy, sharp or crushable goods, a mailer may need additional protection or a box.
- If moisture exposure matters, ask for a material-specific test or protective solution. Do not infer water resistance from paper or film appearance alone.
- For environmental claims, request the exact material and liner documentation and check the intended disposal route in the destination market. A paper exterior with bubble lining is not automatically recyclable.
Request Comparable Samples and Quotes
Send the item and packed dimensions, weight, shipping route, target quantity per size and design, preferred exterior, required cushioning, artwork and destination. Ask for the inner measurements, paper or film specification, bubble structure, seal, sample arrangements and quotation for each candidate. If printing is involved, use our logo artwork checklist to prepare files and placement notes.
