How to Choose the Right Mailer Size for Clothing

Fold and pack the garment as it will ship, then measure packed width, length and thickness. Compare those measurements with candidate mailers, allowing space for insertion and closure. Confirm usable inner dimensions and test a sample before ordering: the catalogue lists outer dimensions.

Measure the Actual Shipping Pack

  1. Fold the garment the way your team will pack it. Include any tissue, cardboard insert or inner zipper bag you plan to use.
  2. Measure the widest width, longest length and greatest thickness of the finished pack. If one mailer will hold several garments, measure the full group.
  3. Record how the item enters the bag, how much room the adhesive flap needs, and whether it can shift without stressing seams.
  4. For multiple garment styles, measure the largest packed example for each shipping group rather than assuming one size covers all.
Do not size from a flat garment alone. Thickness consumes usable space when the mailer wraps around the contents. Seams, lining and flap position reduce the practical opening or closing area. Ask for usable internal measurements for the exact proposed construction.

Catalogue Example: 24 × 30 × 4 cm Packed Garment

This is an illustrative packed item, not a verified Welltroy order. The 2025 catalogue lists the following Poly Mailers dimensions as outer width × length + flap:

ModelCatalogue outer sizeWhat the example suggests
P0325 × 30 + 5 cmNearly no nominal width or length allowance before 4 cm thickness and seams; do not assume it fits.
P0428 × 37 + 5 cmA candidate to check for usable inner space, flap closure and actual packed fit.
P0532 × 40 + 5 cmA larger candidate if P04 leaves too little working room; check whether extra space suits your packing process.

The “+ 5 cm” is the listed flap, not extra usable body length. These outer figures alone cannot establish fit, and no model above is a guaranteed recommendation. Ask us to confirm inner dimensions, tolerance, closure position, material and availability for the size you intend to order.

Test Before Choosing One Size

  • Insert the actual packed garment into a physical sample without forcing it.
  • Close the flap in the normal position; check that the adhesive lands securely and contents do not strain the seams.
  • Check presentation and movement inside the bag, then test normal fulfillment and shipping handling.
  • For rigid or delicate accessories, compare a Poly Bubble Mailer or additional protective packaging; test the complete pack.

Send Measurements That Can Be Quoted

Tell us the garment type, packed width × length × thickness, items per parcel, candidate model if any, quantity per size and design, desired film and closure, print artwork, destination and target timing. If you do not know the mailer size, send packed item measurements and ask us to compare samples.
